Justin's First Plane Ride!

We left Saturday, May 2, 2009 to El Paso, TX for Dennis' 2nd Deployment. It was also Justin's FIRST PLANE RIDE!!!! He was excited!!

There is no easy way to get to El Paso. Because of our late notice and plane availability, we had two connections. We flew Florence to Charlotte, Charlotte to Phoenix, and Phoenix to El Paso. By the way, it is not cheaper to fly out of Charlotte....it is actually cheaper to fly out of Florence....who would have guessed?

The nice lady for US Airways was so sweet to put all of us together. We got the back row!! Justin wanted the window seat....I didn't tell him that I hate sitting in the middle of the plane. He is really excited here. My Mom is in the blue shirt. Also, that girl in the yellow shirt you see a piece of....it's her time flying too.

It was a short flight (about 30min.) to Charlotte. The plane had little turbulance and Justin is felling great after having his first flight. The next two flights weren't so great. The flight from Charlotte to Phoenix is 4.5hrs. and we are separated. Justin and I both had middle seat in between strangers and Mom was much further back. The flight attendent moved her because some poor Mom was traveling with her 5 CHILDREN!!! They were all under 7yrs. and at first they were all sitting apart. Great job to the flight attendent for fixing that!!!!
After a short layover, we hopped onto the plane to take us to El Paso. El Paso has mountains which made the flight very turbulant. Unfortunately, that didn't pose well for Justin. He was nauseaous the last 15min. He didn't throw up on the plane, but the airport bathroom wasn't so lucky. :( So we landed in El Paso safely and after retrieving our bags and getting a rental car, we were on our way to see Dennis!

Oh yeah....Justin did MUCH better on the way back ...and we can even fly again!!!
