This summer seems to be flying by. We were just in Florida to celebrate Justin's birthday and now we're talking about going back before the fall semester!
I've learned about my yard this summer. I'm trying to control my weed population and turn it all into grass. It is massive....and exhausting. But I have flowers, some flowers. I learned that those purple flowers in my front yard don't like the amount of sun there getting. I burned them! The big, wooden fence I wanted to put up around the yard, well it didn't get done. Maybe next summer.
I spent this summer with family and friends. My brother came home to visit. He was there for my birthday and it was so nice. Our differences are becoming more evident and we are having less and less in common. But I love him and he knows it. I'm hoping he soon moves east, really even a little east...
Justin and I spent the summer with out friends at cookouts and parties. He's had the guys over to grill out. I've been with out with girls. We've been to the beach..and been rained out at the beach.
We have read alot. Gone on dates. Ate dinner on our patio. Babysat for friends.
Participated in a Bible Study on GRACE. It was enlightening!
Spent long weekend with my Mom here in Florence.
I started back to running, again. In September, they have a 5K for the arthritis foundation. Last year, I ran it with my friend, Kimberly, and Justin's friend, James. It was a fun run last year. This year, its personal. My Mom has arthritis and the pain is getting worse. She's not able to do what she used to do. It hurts. I'm running for her.
Justin's fully recovered from his knee surgery. He has rekindled his passion for jiujitsu. In June, we went to cheer some of his teammates on in a tournament. It was a small one in Myrtle Beach. Justin loved the small tournament atmosphere. He's competing next month in Myrtle Beach.
I've spent the month of July working. It wasn't meant to work out like this....26 days in a row. I have 7 left as I write this. I'm not as worn out as I would have expected. I wore scrub pants and tennis shoes to work today. My coworkers knew I needed to do laundry. While speaking of work, I am patiently and cautiously waiting for God's guidance about an important decision. Please pray for me to do His will!
The summer is winding down. Our teacher friends and family are looking at inservices to prepare for next year. It's the true sign the summer is ending.
Time is also told by high school reunions. Mine is in August. 10 years! It's so cool to look at the before and after shots from the past 10 years. God is proud to see how much I've grown and the person I've become. Speaking of high school reunions, a relaxing weekend with my friend, Kim, is planned at the end of the month...to go shopping for an outfit!
